The difference between shirt and T-shirt

I made this post precisely to clarify a doubt that I see many men have.

In fact, the piece that causes the most confusion is the camiseta which is often called a shirt. The other way around is quite difficult. Although the names are similar, each one represents a very different garment.

Camisa

It is the garment that originated in social dress, accompanying the suit, and made of the finest fabrics. It is marked by the central opening closed with buttons and the collar. Nowadays, there are shirts with short sleeves, without chest pockets, with different collars and various models made for casual wear (plaid, striped, denim, polka dots, flowery, etc.).

The model “Polo”Although it does not follow this pattern, it is called Camisa Polo . Maybe because it has a collar and starts with an opening that can be closed with buttons.

Camiseta

The T-shirt, known internationally as the “T-Shirt”, is the basic garment. It is characterized by the use of lighter fabrics and the T-shaped cut (hence the name T-Shirt). Today there are different types of collars, lengths, colors and prints.

The variants that emerged from the T-shirt:regatta, henley, raglan, etc.

Now you can’t go wrong!

What's your reaction?
