It may sound crazy, but there are perfumes that have been created to be more than just fragrances, but objects of luxury and exclusivity.

10) Annick Goutal Eau d’Hadrien

“Eau d’Hadrien is a completely citrus perfume developed by Annick Goutal in partnership with Francis Camail. The fragrance features a blend of Sicilian lemon, lime, grapefruit, green mandarin, ylang-ylang and cypress.

Price:US$440 (around R$1,400).

9) Bolt of Lightning JAR Parfums

Launched in 2001 by JAR Parfums, the perfume “Bolt of Lightning” is packaged in hand-cut glass bottles. The fragrance is oriental floral, but the notes have never been disclosed by JAR.

Price:US$765 (around R$2,400).

8) Poivre da Caron

With a bottle made from Baccarat crystal, adorned with white gold and pristine crystal, the “Poivre”by Caron was created by perfumer Michel Morsetti and features oriental notes.

A Bond No. 9 has launched a limited edition bottle of the perfume all studded with Swarovski crystals. The fragrance has notes of grapefruit, blackcurrant, lily of the valley and musk.

6) Notorious Ralph Lauren

Notorious”was launched in 2008 by Ralph Lauren and is designed by perfumer Olivier Gillotin. Its highlights are its oriental fragrance and the bottle with its gold-plated spray tip.

5) Sacred Tears from Thebes da Baccarat

The perfume “The Sacred Tears of Thebes was created by Christine Nagel for Baccarat. The highlight is the crystal bottle in the shape of a pyramid. The notes are Jasmine, ylang-ylang, cardamom, incense, geranium, myrrh, sandalwood, basil, musk and myrtle.

Price:US$6,800 (about R$21,500).

4) Guerlain Idylle por Ora Ito

The “Idylle”perfume designed by Ora Ito has a drop-shaped bottle with 18-carat gold and is encased in a Baccarat crystal bottle. It was a limited edition of 30 perfumes. The notes are of lilies, roses, peonies and other light florals.

Value:US$45,000 (about R$143,000).

3) Paco Rabanne 1 Million LUXE Edition

The classic “1 million”by Paco Rabanne has already had a luxury version, where the bottle is made of 18-carat gold and the perfume box is made of leather and has a gold padlock. The notes are Grapefruit, Mint, Tangerine, Rose, Cinnamon, Leather, Amber and Patchouli.

Value:US$57,000 (about R$181,200).

2) Imperial Majesty Perfume de Clive Christian Nº 1

Until recently perfume “Imperial Majesty” by Clive Christian N°1 was considered the most expensive perfume in the world by the Guinness World Book. The bottle is handmade from Baccarat crystal and decorated with 5-carat white diamonds and small details in 18-carat gold.

Buyers of this luxury perfume received it in a personalized way, through a chauffeur who took this real “treasure”on board a Rolls-Royce.

Value:US$200,000 (about R$635,800).

1) DKNY Golden Delicious Million Dollar Fragrance Bottle

Currently the most expensive perfume in the world, the million-dollar bottle of DKNY was developed by jeweler Martin Katz and is made of polished yellow and white gold and decorated with 2,909 precious stones from all over the world. The finishing touch is the 3.07 carats of rubies.

Detail:Part of the sale of this perfume, as well as the more commercial version of “Golden Delicious”, goes to “Action Against Hunger”which fights world hunger.

Value:US$1,000,000 (about R$3,180,000).
